venicetaxi.boats is an independent editorial guide run by the editorial team of venicetaxi.boats. Specifically, it is:
- not the website of the Comune di Venezia (Venice City Council) or any of its bodies or offices;
- not the website of any water-taxi consortium, cooperative or licence holder;
- not connected with Alilaguna, ACTV, AVM, ATVO or any other public transport company;
- not a travel agency, and it sells no service directly.
Names, trademarks and logos mentioned belong to their owners and are used only to identify the services we write about. Their presence implies no endorsement or partnership.
Official water-taxi fares are set by the Comune di Venezia. For official information, the only authoritative source is the council’s website, comune.venezia.it.
Affiliate links: how they work
The site is funded through the affiliate programmes of GetYourGuide and Tiqets. When you click a button or link to one of these sites and complete a booking, the platform pays us a commission. You pay exactly what you would pay by going to the platform directly.
How to spot them:
- they pass through a redirect address on our site beginning with
/go/; - they lead to a GetYourGuide or Tiqets page;
- they carry the
nofollowandsponsoredattributes, as search-engine guidelines require for commercial links.
Some pages also show GetYourGuide and Tiqets booking widgets — panels loaded straight from the platforms’ servers. Bookings made through them may also earn us a commission.
Commissions have no bearing on the verdicts we publish. Our working methods are set out on the about us page.
Prices: how far to rely on them
You’ll find two kinds of price on our pages, and we keep them apart:
- Official council fares: taken from the Comune’s tariff and labelled as such. The council may revise them at any time.
- Platform prices: drawn from our partners’ data and refreshed regularly, but not in real time. They vary with date, time, group size, availability and promotions.
That’s why we write “at the time of checking”. The price that applies is always the one the platform shows before you pay. Journey times, timetables and pier directions are estimates based on public sources and can change with tides, fog, boat traffic, strikes or works.

Third-party services and liability
We are not a party to your transport contract. When you book through one of our links:
- the contract is between you, the platform and the local operator that runs the service;
- payments, confirmations, changes, cancellations and refunds are handled solely by the platform and the operator, under their own terms;
- delays, no-shows, service failures and damage to luggage or people are the responsibility of whoever provides the service.
To the extent permitted by law, the editorial team of venicetaxi.boats accepts no liability for loss arising from the use of third-party services, from information published by third parties, or from changes to prices and terms made after we checked them. Nothing on this page limits the rights consumers have by law against the seller or provider of a service.
